Bach 1.5G

Not a BBone player but I have this old 1.5G and use it from time to time when I play bass. I decided to share my 2 cents when I was writing a review about a 5G saying that it's reliable but boring. yeah...there you go...

Bach 5G

I guess there is a reason why it became a standard and I have several of them from different eras. However whenever I go back to them, I find them boring now. Kind of like a Bach 1.5G, I'll play it if I'm gonna play BB but nothing special. Maybe kind of like Toyota Camry? Reliable but boring 😆

Hammond HD 21BL

A Game-Changer for the Part-Time Bass Trombonist As someone who isn't a full-time bass trombone player, I had been searching for an all-around mouthpiece that is genuinely easy to play. After experimenting with a few different options, I found the Ham…

GR 65M

True to it’s identity - an all around mouthpiece! I find the rim comfort & rim bite perfect for my chops. I’m constantly playing different styles of music and I’ve yet to feel disappointed with my sound output with the 65M, and that’s after 20 years of using the same mouthpiece. Thank you GR!!

Giddings Szentpali Signature

Awesome mouthpiece! I was afraid at first by the larger rim width, but there is enough bite for precision. This mouthpiece really channels your air stream like no other and help achieve a focus dark sound that makes the horn vibrate.

Shires USA 5G Large Shank

I've spent a good amount of time playing the Shires 5G across a variety of settings—from brass quintets to symphonic orchestras and concert bands—and it consistently did the job without making things complicated. If I had to sum it up, this is one of those "vanilla ice cream" of trombone mouthpieces. It’s comfortable, reliably consistent, and practically most would like how it feels and plays, especially if they are used to playing on Bach 5G or …

What these counts mean

Most-clicked means model-link selections by visitors who allow optional counts, grouped by brand. It is not a page-view count or a count of unique people. Seller selections are collected separately and do not determine this board. Current-catalog models are covered initially; vintage archive selections are not included.

Repeated selections for the same model/event are suppressed in the page session. Duplicate interaction IDs, known automation and excessive requests are rejected where detected. These measures are imperfect and cannot guarantee one person per click. Low counts are small samples, not winners or evidence of performance.

The optional collector does not store IP addresses, full user agents, referrers, account identifiers or browser fingerprints. Records older than 29 days are pruned when the collection or board is queried; your local preference can be changed below. Infrastructure providers may keep their own operational logs. Sponsorship does not change rankings.
